Protecting the Registry

Registry is a large database manage how Windows is running. By editing the registry, and do a little tweak, you can improve the performance of windows. Editing your registry can done through the Registry Editor or Regedit known as the you can find the windows directory. But the registry can also be misused by the hands of ignorant to interfere with the performance of your PC, causing the PC disturbed not even able to work anymore. To protect the registry, please follow the steps below:

1. Goto Regedit from Run menu and tjen goto subkey : HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTSoftwareMicrosoftWindows    CurrentVersionPoliciessystem

2. Create a DWORD with the name  ”DisableRegistryTools” with value “0″

4.  Perform backups of the registry by clicking Registry> Export Registry File, and give a name “Open” to anticipate things that are not desirable when the registry changed

5. Then back to the DWORD data, and change the value to 1

6. Then repeat step 3 with a different name, such as Close

Now exit Regedit and try to run it regedit.Windows will display message box stating that you can not edit the registry. In this way, you can open the registry by first to run the registry file named Show.reg and protect by running the file Close.reg.
